Accommodation with local families

We offer accommodation with local families in various areas of colonial or modern Quito. These “home stays” provide a great opportunity to experience local lifestyles as well as have someone to practice your new found Spanish skills with. Being immersed in a Spanish speaking environment really helps ground the class of the day and advance your Spanish faster.

We have been working with some of these families for several years now and we have received the highest recommendations from past students. The families we work with are middle class and can be characterised by their extreme friendliness and welcoming hospitality.

Each family offers the student a bright, clean and amply sized room, a bathroom with hot water, as well open use of the living areas of the house, including being able to do laundry. The home stay comes with two meals a day, breakfast and dinner, which are versatile and tasty and will be a good introduction to local cuisine; all meals are eaten together as a family. If the student is vegetarian or has specific dietary needs, suitable meals can be prepared accordingly.

You can also have a home stay with an Ecuadorian family but without the meals if you wish. In this case the student has to pay only half of the regular price. If the student has special wishes regarding their accommodation (e.g. non-smoking house or no domestic animals) we will gladly consider these when selecting the host family.

Accommodation in a hotel or a flat

We can organise accommodation in a hotel or a flat for you, just let you us know your respective wishes and we will make the reservations for you. There is a wide range of hotels available and prices are set according to quality and service. The prices begin at around 8 US$ per person per night in a simple, but clean hostel, and can reach up to 300 US$ per night in a double room in a luxury hotel.

Apartments are available predominantly in the modern part of the city and can be rented by months (not weeks or days). A furnished flat for two people costs around 300 US$ per month.
